How to buy DMM points using PayPal as R18 stops accepting credit card payments

Update July 2022: It appears R18.com now only allows users to purchase 7-day free trials. You can still buy movies directly from DMM.

As of May 2022, R18.com has stopped accepting Visa, Mastercard, and even PayPal payments.

In fact, as of June 2022, the R18 website has been displaying the following error when attempting to make card payments, "Credit Card processing issues - At the moment we can't process credit cards. New credit card registration is not possible at the moment. Sorry for the inconvenience".

This has resulted in many people around the world not being able to buy movies from the website, and were only able to use DMM points to make purchases.

However one of the biggest challenges is that the R18 website does not provide much detail on how one can buy DMM points.

This article will help guide you through the process. Follow the steps below:

Step 1 - Know how many points you need.

Firstly, identify how many points you will need beforehand. 

You can easily find out by adding all the movies you'd like to purchase to your R18 cart, and then proceed to the 'checkout' page (Ensure that your currency is set to JPY).

The page should look similar to the following:

On the checkout page, scroll to the bottom until you see the order total.

Typically, 1 DMM point = 1 Japanese Yen. 

In the example above, we will need to buy 500 DMM points to buy this 500 JPY movie.

Step 2 - Visit DMM points website

Visit this link to the DMM points webpage to top up your account's available points.

Upon visiting the link, you should see the following page:

Do not click on the points, but instead scroll down to the bottom of the page until you see the PayPal payment option.

Select the PayPal payment option and follow step 3.

Step 3 - Log In with your R18.com account

Upon selecting the PayPal payment option, you will be brought to a log in page if you're not already logged in.

The page should look like this:

Ensure that you are logged in to the same account as you're using for R18.com (you will log in using the same email address and password as R18).

Step 4 - Choose the amount of DMM points

Once you're logged in, you should see the following page:

Choose the amount of points you'd like to buy, and you will be brought to the following confirmation page:

Click on the orange button and make your payment on the PayPal website.

After payment, your points would have been successfully topped up and the following page will appear:

Step 5 - Buy movies on R18 with DMM points

Now that you have topped up your points, you can go ahead with buying JAV movies on R18.

Simply refresh the R18 checkout page and your recently purchased DMM points will appear in the box below the credit card form.

Simply turn on the switch next to 'Use My Points', and select 'Use maximum available' to consume the available points you have to make the purchase.

If you have sufficient points, you will be able to make the entire purchase solely with DMM points.

Click on 'Complete purchase' and enjoy your movies!
