AV actress Akari Mitani (aka Akane Mitani) to retire in 2025

In a surprising announcement, popular Japanese adult video (AV) actress Akari Mitani has declared her plans to retire from the industry in 2025.

Mitani, who began her journey as a fan of AV star Ai Uehara during her middle school years, entered the industry to experience the thrill of live shooting. Standing at 166 centimeters with an E-cup bust and a slender waist, her striking appearance and talents quickly captivated producers and fans alike. 

Within a year of her debut, Mitani amassed over 100 works and earned top rankings in numerous AV lists and awards. Her background in dance, particularly her flexibility and adeptness in waist and back movements, earned her the nickname "genius in the riding position".

The actress has undergone several professional changes recently, including switching agencies twice and altering her stage name from Akari Mitani to Akane Mitani. 

On July 5th, she took to social media platform X to announce her retirement effective July 19, 2025.

“It is important for everyone to know that I, Akane Mitani, will retire as an AV actress in one year’s time on July 19, 2025. To avoid any regrets, I will do my best until then! Please support me,” Mitani stated.
